Owen Sound Minor Hockey is excited to announce a
FREE two-day Goalie Camp designed to elevate the skills of our young goaltenders.
As part of our commitment to supporting goalie development within our organization, this camp will provide a comprehensive training experience, combining both physical and mental conditioning.
Led by our instructors Taylor Prestidge, Jillian Moffatt and Steve Davies, who bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to the position both on and off the ice. This camp promises to be an invaluable opportunity for our goalies to improve their game, learn techniques to prepare, and build lasting friendships with fellow goalies.
We believe that creating strong partnerships among our goaltenders is crucial for both personal and team success. This camp will not only focus on individual skills but will also emphasize the importance of camaraderie and mutual support among goalies within the Owen Sound Minor Hockey community.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Must be a registered member of Owen Sound Minor Hockey or the Owen Sound Ice Hawks girls' program.
- 11 years of age or older.
- Minimum 2 years of goaltending experience.
Schedule and Itinerary:
A full Camp Schedule and Itinerary will be provided to all registered participants prior to the camp dates.
For now, please take note of the start and end times for each day of the event:
- Day 1 - Saturday September 7th:
- 8:00 AM: Arrival (Remember: If you’re not early, you’re late!)
- 4:00 PM: Wrap up the day and head home.
- Day 2 - Sunday September 8th:
- 8:30 AM: Meet at Bayshore, drop off gear in rooms and prepare for the day ahead
- 4:00 PM: Camp wrap-up and pickup
What do I need to Bring:
- Full hockey gear
- Workout gear (shorts, running shoes, etc.)
- Lacrosse ball
- Skipping rope
- Large water bottle
- Lunch for both days
This camp is not just about enhancing your on-ice skills; it’s also designed to build mental resilience and foster good habits that will benefit you both on and off the ice. Additionally, our Owen Sound Minor Hockey Coaches will be participating throughout the camp to ensure a seamless transfer of knowledge and support so that the development can continue throughout the upcoming season.
We strongly encourage our goalies to take this opportunity not just to improve their skills, but also to form lasting bonds with other goalies in the organization. These friendships and partnerships can become the foundation of a supportive network that will help you grow both as a player and as a person.
