REP - PeeWee Maj - Harold Sutherland Peewee’s Going To OMHA Finals!
Submitted By Jeremy Stewart on Monday, March 11, 2019
The OMHA semi final series was an intense series of close games that saw 5 games played to determine who would move on as one of the OMHA finalists.Owen Sound Peewees lost the flip and started the semi final series with their first 2 games down in St Thomas. Game one was a well played close game but the Harold Sutherland Peewee’s fell short to start the series with a 1-0 loss. However, that didn’t phase the team who bounced back and took the 2nd game of the series with 3-1 victory.

The following weekend the St Thomas Stars came to Owen Sound for a Friday Saturday matchup where the teams would again each pick up a pair of points. It was a packed house and the Owen Sound Peewee’s played their hearts out but unfortunately fell short with a 2-1 loss in overtime to St Thomas. Saturday’s game was at the Bayshore where there was more overwhelming support for the team. The team wasn’t ready to let the season end and beat the St Thomas Stars with another close score 1-0 taking them to game 5 down in St Thomas to determine a series winner.
Harold Sutherland’s peewee’s proved they wanted this series in the final match up. Even though they were playing in St Thomas in front of a full house they didn’t let it phase them and dominated the game from the first puck drop. The Harold Sutherland Peewee’s moved onto the OMHA finals with a 5-2 victory over St Thomas.

Owen Sound starts their series against Quinte West in Trenton this weekend. If you see any of the kids around the rinks be sure to wish them luck.

to the Major Atoms who swept their series this weekend to make it to the finals as well!

The Bantams are set to play a sudden death decider at
7:15 Tuesday evening at the rec center. It would be great to see them in the finals as well, if you can make it Tuesday night they’d appreciate the support.
Good Luck Boys!
