Novice AEs face tough foes

The Owen Sound QuikLube Junior Attack novice AEs faced off a couple of the Georgian Bay Minor Hockey League's top teams on the weekend.
The Junior Attack faced off against Coldwater at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre on Saturday.
Owen Sound started slow, but once they shook off the rust were competitive against a big and strong Coldwater squad.
Cole Gowan scored a couple of goals for Owen Sound. Curtis Arnold netted one in a 9-3 loss.
On Sunday the Junior Attack faced off against Flesherton.
Owen Sound started the game better, skating with the Flesherton team and getting several good scoring chances. Curtis Arnold scored his second goal of the weekend for Owen Sound, who eventually went down 9-1.
Landon Sanford came up big in the Owen Sound goal on several occasions on the weekend and the whole team never gave up, even when down a couple goals.
The team now has a bit of time off for Christmas as their next scheduled game isn't until Jan. 5 in Grand Valley. Their next home start is Jan. 7 at 7:30 p.m. against Stayner at the Coliseum.
