Major Novice Play Hard in Georgetown
Submitted By howellj on Sunday, January 22, 2012
The novice team traveled to Georgetown on Saturday Night to face the Raiders for the second time in the Omha round robin play downs.

Drayton Howell and Austin Barnard did a great job getting the puck out of our end and up to Aidan Yarde where he used his deadly wrist shot to start off the scoring for the Attack.  Despite being short one of our players due to an injury the team played hard for three periods.  Ryan Campbell played a strong game in net allowing only one goal off a deflection in front of the net.  Caleb Morrison scored the game winner from Josh Beattie and Aidan Yarde.  Caleb also added an empty net goal to cap off a 3-1 victory over Georgetown.  The team played a great game, stressing out the coaches late in the game when we tried to carry the puck out of our end rather than shoot it.  Great effort all around.

The win evens up the score with Georgetown who we lost to at home on Jan 14, 3-2.  Kieran Moore started off our scoring with a nice low wrist shot assisted by James Millson and Josh Beattie.  Tyler Moore scored the other goal with a great assist from Aidan Yarde and Patrick Brown.  We had a couple of bad breaks which could have easily changed the outcome of the game.  Great team effort!

The third game of our Omha round robin took us to Woolwich on Sun Jan, 15 where we lost 6-1.  We stared off extremely well controlling the game most of the first period.  There were many close plays that could have seen us up a couple of goals.  The second and third periods were a different story.  We seemed to back off giving Woolwich more time and more chances.  Aidan Yarde scored our lone goal assisted by Caleb Morrison.  Aidan did a great job going to the net when Caleb was taking his big shot.

Overall the boys have been playing very well.  We are looking forward to our 3 remaining Omha round robin games.
