Early Optimism Turns to Disappointment vs Dundalk
Submitted By peeweeae on Monday, December 13, 2010
Playing a series of tough teams as of late has taught the boys that winning teams play with speed and grit.  Lessons learnt of late were clearly evident as the Owen Sound PeeWee AE squad pressed hard from the get go scoring first and scoring often with Liam McManaman scoring two and Nick Kazarian and Dustin Lantz adding singles.  However Dundalk was a quality opponent and both teams were tied at 4 goals apiece after two exciting periods of play at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre this past Saturday.

Back on October 23rd the Doug Cameron's Owen Sound Hyundai PeeWee AE team was outplayed on the road by a faster more physical Dundalk team.  This time Owen Sound's speed and new found physical play kept the high scoring opponents from taking command, at least for two periods.  Alas it was not to be.  With Owen Sound down a few skaters and with a few late penalties the wheels went a little flat for the good guys as Dundalk shifted into high gear in the third with 5 unanswered goals.  The first two battles go to Dundalk but these boys have demonstrated a keen desire to skate harder than the opponent and to play more physical than the opponent.  Stronger third periods, a full bench and continued hard work and attention to detail will pay off as these teams play again twice, leaving Owen Sound with the opportunity to even the season series.
