The Owen Sound Harold Sutherland Construction Junior Attack major peewees fell 4-0 to Stratford yesterday in the final of the Owen Sound Minor Hockey Group October Classic tournament.
Owen Sound blanked Markham 6-0 in the semifinals with Kai Hiemstra netting a hat trick. Nick Foster scored twice, while Brydon Adams added a single goal.
Stratford beat Centre Wellington 4-2 in the other semifinal.
The Junior Attack went 2-0-1 (won-lost-tied) in round-robin play including a 5-5 tie with that same Stratford team.
Hiemstra had a hat trick while Jordan Caskenette and Adams added single markers.
Owen Sound also blanked Hamilton 10-0 with Daniel Kitto, Adams, Foster and Hiemstra all scoring twice. Chayson Rouse and Caskenette added single goals to round out the offence. Goalie Ethan Woods kept the net clean.
The Junior Attack also beat Barrie 7-0 with Nathan Roy and Caskenette both scoring twice. Alex Muzzell, Foster and Hiemstra added single tallies. Andrew Rutherford earned the shutout.
