The Owen Sound Harold Sutherland Construction Major PeeWees had a very busy and unique weekend that involved 4 League games in 3 different cities over a 41 hour period.

The schedule started with a home date Friday night at 7:00 p.m. vs the then 1st place Oakville Blue team. Hard work, timely scoring, defensive responsibility and great goaltending from Preston Downs led to a 4-0 win. Saturday, the team was back to the Bayshore for a Rogers TV televised, noon hour puck drop vs Burlington Blue. Another great game that was fast paced with the Owen Sound boys being responsible at both ends of the ice. Mason Adams played a strong game leading OS to a 2-0 win.
 It was then time to pack up the equipment, grab something to eat and drive to Halton Hills for a 5:30 contest against the Thunder. The Thunder have always been a tough test for this age group, even sweeping the Tri-County Championship last year against this very Owen Sound team. This game was no different than those in the past; low scoring with plenty of chances at both ends. But, with 17 seconds remaining in the game (and apparently his eyes closed) Gavin Downs found the back of the net for a 1-0 Owen Sound victory. Preston Downs with the shutout.
 Sunday brought us to Caledon East to play the Hawks at 1:00 p.m. Somewhat of a penalty filled affair slowed down the game and prevented much flow for a large portion of the match. The shutout streak was broken this game but Owen Sound escaped with a 4-1 victory. Mason Adams with some key saves early in the game.
 Balanced scoring from all 3 lines and the defence made it difficult for our opponents to focus on one specific line.
 The team goals heading into the weekend included being defensively responsible, strong forecheck  & back check along with strong goaltending to get 8 out of 8 possible points. Mission Accomplished.
