Tough Overtime Loss for the Owen Sound Attack in Semi Finals in Bradford
An Attack penalty just 13 seconds into the first period lead to a power play goal and an early lead for The Grimbsy Peach Kings in the Semi Final Game Sunday morning in Bradford. 2 more goals by the Peach Kings before the end of the first period put Grimbsy up 3-0 going into the second period.
Not to be counted out Owen Sound came out fighting in the second period with Hunter Stewart getting an unassisted goal at the 5:55 mark and Leighton Hurst getting another unassisted just over a minute later putting the Attack within 1 goal.
Great goal-tending, including a stopped penalty shot by Michael Smith, kept the Home Team in the game in the third. Hunter Stewart getting his second of the game with an assist by #17 Tyler Gibbons to tie us at 3 and sending this semi final game into 4 on 4 over time.
Heartbreak came to the Attack just 30 seconds into overtime with a scramble in front of the net ended up in a sudden death goal putting the attack out of the tournament.
