Submitted By Rhonda on Tuesday, February 21, 2012
The Owen Sound Jr. Attack Crescent Club Major Midgets have taken a stranglehold in their best-of-five OMHA quarter final series.

Lauchlin Elder scored two goals and one assist and Ryan Hamelin and Brandon Eagles each had one goal and two assists to lift the Crescents to a 4-2 Game 2 road victory on Sunday over the Brampton Jr. Battalion.

Tyler Cunningham, Chris Baker and Tyler McCracken also contributed assists and Jerred Kiss earned the win in net for Owen Sound, who now leads the best-of-five series 2-0.

The Crescents, who have yet to lose a game during this year's playoff run, will go for the series sweep when they play host to Brampton on Friday. Game time at the Bayshore Community Centre is 7 p.m.

On Saturday, Elder scored three goals and two assists, Hamelin had one goal and four assists and Brandon Vanderschot turned aside every shot he faced to lead the Crescents to an 8-0 series opening win at the Owen Sound Coliseum.

Cunningham also had a goal and three assists while Eagles tallied one goal and one assist.

Dylan Carder and Nick Bruce also scored, while McCracken (2), Nate Kramer and Kyle Linthorne chipped in with the other helpers.
