Midget Major - Crescents Cruise into Second Round of OMHA Playoffs
The
Owen Sound Jr. Attack Crescent Club Major Midgets have booked a spot in the second round of the OMHA playoffs.
Lauchlin Elder and Ryan Hamelin each had two goals and one assist as the Crescents, who at one point trailed by a score of 3-0, stormed back for a 6-3 come-from-behind victory to eliminate the Hespeler Shamrocks in Game 4 of their best-of-five preliminary series on Sunday.
Brandon Eagles and David Vander Ploeg both chipped in with a goal and an assist, while Skylar Leblanc, Adam Roy and Nate Kramer each contributed single helpers.
Jerred Kiss earned the win between the pipes.
Owen Sound and Hespeler played to a series opening 3-3 tie, before the Crescents rolled out a 5-1 win in Game 2 and a convincing 10-0 victory in Game 3.
The Crescents now must wait and see who their second round opponent will be.
